Name: Thamuel Jay Foster

Physical Appearance:
Thamuel is short for his age and too thin; in fact, he looks three years younger than what he actually is. He has soft curly auburn hair and piercing blue eyes; also, he has a few freckles here and there. He has oxygen tubes that go up his nose and down into his lungs that help him breathe.
Personality: Thamuel is a kindly boy - always thinking of others instead of himself. Though not exactly healthy, he looks on the bright side of things (like being able to go to Hogwarts). He is extremely intelligent and very will-powered; after all, he had to be to survive.
Likes: Quidditch, Wizard's Chess, learning (particularly that of Defense Against the Dark Arts or Charms).
Dislikes: Hospitals, the nickname 'Tham'
Family [Parents/Siblings]: His parents are Joshua and Blaire Foster. He has a younger sister, Judith, who is only seven right now. Joshua works at the Ministry of Magic in the Games and Sports Department; Blaire is a stay-at-home mother who takes care of her children.
Relationships [Friendships/Enemies/Significant Other etc]: Thamuel doesn't really have a lot of good friends because of his health problems, but he loves his family. Thamuel has been known to make friends with the Healers on the floor he goes to, partly because he gets bored easily and being stuck in a room when you're thirteen is no fun at all.
History: Thamuel was born prematurely and as such suffers from not being in the womb long enough. He developed a condition known as Neonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome: The lungs cannot expand because of a wetting agent is lacking; characterized by rapid shallow breathing. Caused by a lack of lung surfactant, a chemical that normally appears in mature lungs. He constantly has to have a supply of oxygen to help him breathe.
When he was eleven, he got the acceptance letter from Hogwarts. For a while, he thought he wouldn't be able to go because his mother worried about him. She thought that he would have problems, but the Healers were eventually convinced that Thamuel could attend as long as he visited St. Mungo's once a month.
The Headmaster, the Professors, and especially the Nurse understood his needs. However, Thamuel was not treated any different for this reason. He was given the same homework and expected to take the exams. Intelligent beyond his young years, Foster – who was sorted into Ravenclaw – found school immensely simplistic. The only thing he wishes he could do is play Quidditch, but he has been advised not to do anything strenious.

1. He likes to sneak out of his Hospital room and try to escape using various methods.
2. He hasn't properly smelled any scents since the day he had to start using oxygen. (Flowers, dust, food - he really doesn't know what they smell like)
